Overview

> Swim at the hot springs
> Enjoy a tasty breakfast cooked by the steam of the active volcano
> Try the traditional Balinese coffee

Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking & Natural Hot Spring Tour is an exciting combination between the top of the volcano & the natural hot springs near it, all in one day. This trip will take you to the top of the volcano, where you will be able to enjoy the spectacular views and the sacred earth filling your mind and soul. Once at the top, you will enjoy a tasty breakfast cooked by your Mount Batur trekking guide by the steam of the active volcano.

Our next stop, after descending Mount Batur, will be at a natural hot spring (Toya Devasya Natural Hot Spring). The hot water will help you relax your muscles after such a climb. We can’t think of a better reward.

On the way back we will stop at a Traditional Bali Coffee processing place, where you will visit various tropical plantations and learn the traditional process of Balinese coffee. Here we will get to taste the coffee, together with some local herbal teas, and the unusually processed Coffee Luwak, the most expensive coffee in the world.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Best season

Bali is located about 8 degrees south of the equator. Therefore, you can expect a tropical, warm and humid climate all year around. The views from the top of the Volcano are stunning, no matter when you trek to the top. However, if you can avoid the rainy season, then do so. Slippery trails are never advisable. The best season to go to Mount Batur is during the dry season, which lasts from May to September. Another important thing about the region is the heat. Temperature in the island ranges between 20° C at night and 30° C during the day, all year round. Always have water at hand and stay hydrated.

Training

This trek is not such a hard one. The trek up to the top of Mount Batur is 2 hours. However, if you feel uneasy and you are not sure if you are going to make it to the top on time for the sunrise, then the best thing to do is to get in shape.

One sure way to get fit for trekking and hiking in Indonesia is to, you could have guessed it: hike more. Do you like walking, do you sport twice a week on average? With a little extra training, you’ll soon be ready for this beautiful trekking in Bali.

Tipping

Tipping in Bali is appreciated but it’s not required. Anyway, many service workers in Bali don’t earn much, so even a small contribution really helps. If your guide did a good job, took you to the top, and cooked you a nice and tasty breakfast, what a better way to thank him than with a generous tip. Of course, how much to tip isn’t written on stone, but USD 5-10 is a good reference.
